December 16, 2009 | Leave a comment I never realized how fascinating lobsters were until I started reading this book. From their strange anatomy to their crazy mating habits, Corson kept me turning pages. He also describes the differing opinions between the scientists, the lobster fisherman and the environmentalists about declining lobster populations and what to do about it. Jumping between the adventures of the lobster’s life and the real life dramas of the lobstermen and their families on Little Cranberry Island , he paints amusing similarities between human behavior and these weird creatures of old. I’ve sent this to many friends and family – everyone loves it and passes it on. I have a hard time keeping a copy for myself. Melt some butter, put on a bib and dig in!
